Old Williamsonians 5s 1-0 Sutton Valence 4s

Old Williamsonians 5s 1-0 Sutton Valence 4s

After the away thrashing to Sutton Valence and with captain Ali unable to play through injury, Ow's started on the back foot. However, the game itself was pretty one-sided for the most part, with OW's pressuring consistently with the 13 year old Alexander and the more experienced Harvey finding good spaces. Harvey, acting as captain for the day, was to have a number of shots with no success in this game. It was to be young Alexander who pounced on a lifted ball from Routledge to guide the ball in for his first senior goal. This was to be the only goal of the game. Sutton Valence were limited to only a few shots all of which were blocked or saved by Thompson or Ahmed. The second half continued, with Harvey unable to convert any opportunities and although pressure was increased by the opposition, their chances were limited. Some good tracking back and blocking from all players kept a much deserved OW clean sheet. Man of the match awarded to Theo Alexander. No Divot this week due to the excellent effort put in by all to protect the clean sheet.
