Although for quite a few of you who have still been playing summer league, had a great time at the Wednesday hockey or toured all summer it seems like it never stopped, the new hockey season is nearly upon us! With that in mind the first social is right around the corner. The social committee have a cracking start of season club day planned!!

OWHC 2016 #HOCKEYFEST (http://www.englandhockey.co.uk/page.asp?section=1937) is being hold on Saturday 10th September at the school. The day is all about getting current members back into the swing of things, introducing new members to the club and providing complete novices with a chance of playing a fast, competitive and friendly sport. So bring yourself, friends, family members and anyone you know who might be into trying a new sport.

The format of the day again is pushed back a little later into the afternoon as the Ladies have some friendly fixtures. So the main part of the day will be delayed until 2pm to give everyone enough time to get back to the Club for the 6/7 a-side mixed hockey tournament. The popular as ever shuffle competition to beat the keeper will be somewhere in the middle.

During the day there will be something for the youngsters to keep them occupied whilst mum or dad play – to be confirmed nearer the time.

All you have to do is get to the pitch at 1:15pm, register to play and pay the relevant fee. Teams will be selected at 1:45pm (text Gary on 07793 860745) if you are running late.

Once we’ve crowned the winners of the 6-aside we’ll retire to the clubhouse for the evening’s social will include some fun drinking games, music and a Karaoke session from DJ Josh Sullivan. Food will also be served. All the evening fun will be from 6pm onwards (so people are welcome to stay at the club all day – all facilities will be open)
