You should all be aware that the refurbishment of the Clubhouse will be taking place imminently. We can confirm that works will commence on Monday 9th July. In addition to the refurbishment works to the existing structure - bar, toilets and changing facilities - building works will commence to construct 2 further changing rooms. Accordingly, this means that the Clubhouse will be out of action from 9th July onwards.
It is anticipated that the refurbishment works will conclude in time for the new school term in September and therefore the start of the Hockey and Rugby seasons. If this changes, then we will communicate details and arrange contingencies for this. It is likely that the additional building works will still be in progress when the refurbishment works to the existing structure are complete and again, we will communicate further on this as we know more.
As the Clubhouse needs to be cleared, there will be an opportunity to drink the bar dry on Saturday 7th July, which is Founders Day. The bar will be open late afternoon (4.30pm) onwards, after the day's activities have concluded. There will be the Past-v-Present cricket match going on.
On the Sunday (8th), we are looking for volunteers to assist in clearing the clubhouse and putting everything into storage. Photos, memorabilia, kitchen items and bar items all need to be cleared out and safely stored for the duration of the refurbishment works. If you can volunteer for this, please contact Jeff Doust (firstname.lastname@example.org), to confirm.
When complete, we will be lucky enough to have a facility we can be really proud of, so any assistance you can give on the 8th would be most welcome.
