Club News. 9-9-08 : OWHC Club Trials Day : 1st, 2nd, 3rd XI Trials due to be held on Saturday 13-9-08 HAVE BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO A FIXTURE CLASH. 14-8-08 : England Hockey Junior Taster Sessions for U12s and U13s. These sessions are open to both boys and girls and will be held on Sunday 14th September at Holcombe Hockey Ground. Full details can be downloaded here. Attendees could be selected for a further 12 week development programme. 14-7-08 : OWHC to take part in the Medway Mile. All players are encouraged to turn up at the Black Lion Leisure Centre on Sunday 27th July (in kit !!) to take part in the Medway Mile. This is a fun run organised by Medway Council as part of the countdown to 2012, and is also an opportunity to raise the profile of the Club and maybe even attract some new players! The fun run starts at 4PM but there are a host of other events from Midday ; full details and entry form can be downloaded here Medway Mile. All participants in the Medway Mile should pre-register using this downloadable form or via the internet and you even get a free T-shirt (sorry Kenny, no brown ones). So come on, GET YOU KIT ON and let's ensure there are more OWHC shirts in the race than Holcs ones !! 1-7-08 : New Training Arrangements for 2008/09 Season Pre season fitness training commences Wednesday 2nd July 2008,

30-3-08 : Annual Dinner Dance 2008 Martin and Judith Pinder once again organised another enjoyable and successful evening at the Franklin Rooms, Gillingham with over 100 players (past, present and future - not another Doust!) together with guests in attendance. Chairman Wright introduced his own brand of what was loosely described as humour, as Dave Routledge, thinking he was attending a wedding, proceeded to throw confetti over the place. Congratulations to the Monk (Gary Bage) and Lucinda de Grey for winning best male and female player of the season
respectively, to Ian (Eddie) Pentecost for collecting the Alan Medhurst trophy
for services to the
